Snuggle-up with this 100% natural, eco-friendly throw! Handcrafted from the wool of the Kutchi black sheep, this throw has never been touched by chemicals or dyes. The sheep were hand-clipped, the wool was hand-spun and the finished product was hand-woven on a wooden loom. Twice a year, wild, poisonous onions sprout in the rocky mountains in the Kutch region. The weavers collect the onions and mix them with wheat starch. The paste is then rubbed on the wool during the spinning process, providing a natural insect repellant for the woollen throw. It will soften when washed in water. The tassles on each end, made by the women in the village, add a beautiful finishing touch. Origin: a village in the Kutch region, Gujarat, India Dimensions: 207cm x 95cm Colour: Shades of dark brown, with flecks of white. |
